Worried about what to make for breakfast that too with all the weekday works? Let us help you with this delicious Kerala puttu and yummy Karnataka thaat idli. Keep it light healthy and yummy! 0:00 Intro 0:08 Puttu 2:03 Thaat Idli PUTTU RECIPE Ingredients: 2 cups puttu flour Salt to taste 1 cup scraped fresh coconut Sweetened coconut milk to serve Elaichi kela to serve Method: 1. Take puttu flour in a large bowl add salt and mix well. Add water little by little till it resembles breadcrumb consistency. To check take a small portion of the mixture and press it between your palms and if it comes together then it is ready. 2. Add a small portion of the coconut into the puttu maker followed by a generous portion of the puttu rice mixture. Repeat this process till the puttu maker is filled till the top. Cover with the lid. 3. Heat sufficient water in the puttu maker pot and let it come to a boil. Place the puttu maker on it and steam for 5-6 minutes. 4. Take the puttu maker off the heat remove the lid and gently push the puttu out using a satay stick. 5. Serve hot with sweetened coconut milk and elaichi kela. THAAT IDLI Ingredients: 1 cup kolum rice soaked for 4-6 hours and drained ½ cup split skinless black gram (urad dal) soaked for 4-6 hours and drained ½ cup thin pressed rice (patla poha) soaked for 4-6 hours and drained Salt to taste Coconut chutney to serve Sambhar to serve Melted ghee to drizzle Gun powder to sprinkle Method: 1. In a stone grinder add rice urad dal and soaked thin pressed rice and ½ cup water and grind to a coarse batter. Transfer the batter into a bowl and ferment for 8-10 hours. 2. Add salt into the batter and mix well. Transfer the mixture into a greased thali. 3. Heat sufficient water in a steamer and place the thali in it and steam for 10-12 minutes. 4. Take the thali out and allow to cool slightly. Gently pass the knife around the edges and de-mould. 5.
